In order to find out if you have bed bugs, you must first investigate. The tools we recommend are a good flashlight, magnifying glass, screw drivers (to take apart some of your furniture) and some hard work. Pay very close attention to beds, furniture and any other items where they might be hiding. Bedbugs are large enough to be visible by the naked eye. The adult bedbug is brown to reddish-brown, oval-shaped, flattened, and about 1/4 to 5/8 inch long. Be prepared to inspect every spot in the room by using a good flashlight and a magnifying glass. Bedbugs will leave small reddish to brown spots on mattresses and linens. The Bedbugs will have a distinct smell. The bedbug's flat shape and small body enables it to hide very easily in cracks and crevices. Bedbugs, eggs and fecal deposits will very likely go unnoticed with just a casual inspection. When a room is inspected by a professional pest control operator, they may inspect a single room for as long as 2 hours.

This will include but not limited to books, night stands, behind switch plates, pictures, posters, book cases, bed frames, box frames.
